The Itinerary
Pick up
Get a front row seat to take a rare look at the mighty kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the peak of Jabal Al Hash. Jabal Al Hash is located a mere 30 minutes away from the camp. Enjoy the breakfast buffet and be ready with your hiking boots at 9 am to set out to the mountain with our English-speaking Bedouin guide.
The Hike
The 4×4 Jeep will drop you and your guide at the foot of the imposing Jabal Al Hash. It stands tall at a whooping 2,465 meters at its highest point. We will scale the mountain range at a lower point just shy of the 1,800-meter mark. The hike up will take us no longer than three hours.
The summit of Jabal Al Hash
Once we scale the last meters of our light hike, we can begin to lift our eyes from the ground and see the vast expanses of the Saudi Arabian desert just a stone‘s throw away from us. Take a deep breath, drink some of the water we brought for you and celebrate your achievement.
lunch and tea
You have earned a break after your impressive achievement. Not many venture this far into the Jordanian desert. Take a seat in the shade and sip on our freshly-made Bedouin tea. Meanwhile, we will prepare a traditional Bedouin lunch for you over our campfire.
sunset (optional)
If you wish, you can spend the rest of your day at the mountain‘s foot until the sun touches the horizon again. Let‘s enjoy a magical sunset over the Jordanian desert before we return to camp. Take another cup of Bedouin tea, if you like! Alternatively, you can choose to return to camp after lunch.
back to camp
After sunset at the latest, we get back onto the 4×4 Jeep and drive the 30 minutes back to our camp in the heart of Wadi Rum. We will arrive back at the camp in time for the dinner buffet. Grab a quick shower and load your plates with salads, rice, stews and the chicken from the Zarb to celebrate your day in the desert.
