The Itinerary

Pick up
Jabal Umm Ad Dami is located in the south of Wadi Rum, right at the border of Jordan and Saudi Arabia. A 30-minute Jeep ride from the camp will take you to the starting point of our hike. Pick-Up time is at 9 am, right after breakfast.

The Hike
The hike of Jabal Umm Ad Dami takes roughly three hours. It does not take an Olympian to scale the mountain, but make sure you wear appropriate clothing. We take care of your water needs and provide you with water bottles during the hike.

The summit of umm ad dami
The peak of Jabal Umm Ad Dami sits at an impressive height of 1,854 meters, which makes it the highest mountain of Jordan. Once you reach the top, you are rewarded with views that stretch until the shores of the Dead Sea. Take a moment to take in the scenery and record your achievement before you take a seat and relax.

lunch and tea
Every good hike comes with a hefty celebratory meal. Our Bedouin guide will cook up a traditional lunch for you to celebrate your achievement. Take a rest in the shade, sip on some Bedouin tea and test the chef‘s cooking skills.

the hike down
The hike down is quicker than the strenuous climb up. It should only take us around two hours to get back to the Jeep that brought us to the mountain in the morning. Jump on the comfy benches in the back and let your Bedouin guide take you back to your camp.

sunset (optional)
Depending on how you feel, you are free to decide, if you want to spend the rest of the day at Jabal Umm Ad Dami. Staying longer gives you the chance to see the sun set over the Gulf of Aqaba. A 360-degree perspective of Wadi Rum at sunset is a sight to behold!

back to camp
The drive back to the camp takes another 30 minutes. In any case, you will arrive back to the camp safe and sound before dinner. Grab a quick shower (yes, we have hot water) and get ready for a feast to end your day of hiking and exploring along the Saudi Arabian border.
